Requirements

Applications for admission to the College of Engineering must be submitted to the Deanship of Admission and Registration, which sets the university-wide admission criteria and imposes its specific requirements. Admission to the College of Engineering follows a two-stage selection process.

In the first stage, applicants must achieve a minimum composite score of 80, calculated as follows:
Composite Score = 0.3 × [High School GPA] + 0.3 × [General Aptitude Test (GAT)] + 0.4 × [Academic Achievement Test for Scientific Majors]

The General Aptitude Test (GAT) is conducted by the National Center for Assessment.

The college may impose additional admission restrictions, such as setting a maximum number of accepted students.

Applications for the College of Engineering open once a year, not every semester, and adjustments are made in accordance with regulations and policies. The Deanship of Admission and Registration announces application dates and document submission requirements. For more details, please visit www.mu.edu.sa.

In the second stage, admission to the College of Engineering requires passing the Preparatory Year, which is specifically designed for engineering students. The required minimum Preparatory Year GPA for admission is 3.75 out of 5, along with a STEP English proficiency test score of 67.

Completion of all preparatory courses is not a mandatory condition for admission; however, students must pass English, Mathematics, and Physics courses with a minimum grade of D to qualify for enrollment in the college. Other courses, such as Study Skills and Computer Science, can be completed during the first semester at the College of Engineering. However, students must finish these courses by the end of the first semester; otherwise, their enrollment will be suspended until completion.
