Launch of Website for People with Disabilities "Wusul"

Majmaah University Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin, has launched the Website for People with Disabilities "Wusul" in his office in addition to a few projects related to the General Department for Occupational and Environmental Health (GDOEH). Several dignitaries attended the launch including the vice-rectors, deans of the colleges and directors of departments. The University Vice-rector, Dr. Mosallam Al-Dousari, welcomed the attendees and boasted that such project was the first of its kind to be launched in a Saudi university. “The project is the result of hard work and first-rate administration in higher education institutions,” he said. “We’re proud of such an achievement in its early stages because our goal is to reach out to those valuable members of society who deserve all the best and provide them with everything needed to achieve their potential in our community, he added. Dr. Dousari also pointed out that the projects of the GDOEH goes hand in hand with the 2030 vision of the Kingdom, which takes into account the environmental aspect as well. He elaborated that “the University has taken a professional and quality leap in this regard. Then everyone listened to a detailed explanation by Mr. Abdulelah AL Mutairi regarding the most important achievements and initiatives of the Department at the University or outside reflected by its projects during the first year of its establishment by the rector. “The Department has launched several useful projects including a Website for People with Disabilities "Wusul" , the Strategic Plan for the Department of occupational safety, the Preparation of University Laboratories for Certification by OHSAS 18001, the Environmental Permits Project, the Electronic lock System Project for Laboratories and Warehouses, the Indoor Air Quality Control Project inside Laboratories, the Water Quality Lab in Desalination Plants , the Sewage Treatment Station in the dormitories, and finally the project of engineering requirements code for occupational safety and health,” Mr. Mutairi explained. Then Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin, the Rector of the University, gave a speech appreciating that particular project as a quantum leap, given that it helps fulfil the needs of an important community in society. “These projects are definitely important and difficult to accomplish though, partly because of its high cost and also its demanding requirements that need a great deal of planning and hard work, “Dr. Muqrin pointed out. He also boasted of the imitative and expressed appreciation for those in charge of the project. “Our delight is that we have managed to provide those endeared members of society with the social, psychological, health and even the environmental service they need,” he continued. “We feel that we should pay our debt to those people and take pride in doing so, he added. Furthermore, Dr. Muqrin called for all people to take part of the responsibility for those with special needs and do their social duty towards them by providing them with all that they need and help them achieve their potential. “The initiative is a significant contribution by the University personnel whose hard work and determination are reflected on such projects,” he said. “However, he added, we won’t stop there. We will continue working persistently for the fulfillment of the hopes and expectations of the disabled community.” He mentioned the collaborating departments with the GDOEH including the Ministry of Education, General Department of Food and Drug as well as the Holy Quran Society in Zulfi. Additionally, he looked over the internal collaborating departments such as the General Department for Administrative and Financial Affairs, General Department for Operation and Maintenance, the General Department for Safety and Security, the General Department of Projects and Technical Affairs, the General Department of Facilities and Services, and the Department of Strategic Planning. At the end, the audience headed to the bus where a detailed explanation was provided about the bus and its facilities.
