In the presence of Dr. Shadi Al-Shuwayer, CEO of the Applied College; Prof. Suleiman Al-Jalaud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Federation for Sports Culture; and Dr. Abdullah Al-Saadoun, Deputy CEO of the Applied College, the Applied College at MU, launched two new diploma programs: Diploma in Sports Culture and Diploma in Sports and Recreational Management.
The launch ceremony was held at the Grand Hall of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee in Riyadh.
The two programs aim to improve students' sports culture, enhance community awareness, enrich their academic knowledge, and support research and development in the field of sports. They are designed to qualify students for careers in the sports sector.
The event featured a panel discussion that highlighted the scope of both programs and showcased the unique role these diplomas play in qualifying national talent for the labor market in the growing sports industry.
Dr. Al-Shuwayer pointed out that this initiative reflects the Applied College’s strategic commitment to supporting national development initiatives and offering innovative programs that contribute to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He emphasized the programs’ importance in addressing labor market needs within the government’s strategic priorities and national commitments in the sports sector, particularly the preparation for major international events such as the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
