MU'S RESERACH TEAM PUBLISHES A PAPER ON COVID 19

A group of researchers at MU led by Dr. Wael Al-Turaiki, Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Laboratories, published a research entitled "Association between the expression of toll-like receptors, cytokines, and homeostatic chemokines in SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 severity". 

Dr. Al-Turaiki pointed out that the study will allow doctors to predict patients' conditions and whether or not there is a need for intensive care.  

This is the first paper published by Dr. Al-Turaiki and his team in Cell journal, highlighting that the origin of this study was an MA dissertation by Saad Al-Ammri, a student in the Department of Laboratories. The paper is a joint collaboration with C1 Riyadh Health Cluster, King Saud University, Prince Sattam University, Florida University, and Liverpool University. 

The paper received lately two awards on the research day at King Khalid Hospital and the annual research conference held at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh.
