University football team defeated the universities last year's championship cup holder (Qassim University Team) for the second time in a row after winning the home match that was held on Alhamada playground in Alghat. Where they brought the scores level at 3-1. In fact, two of these goals were scored by Abdullah Mokhallad and the third one was scored by Mansour Alanezi. Additionally, the university football team won the away match bringing the scores level at 2-1 over the Alqassim university team.
With regards to the team, the university team in this match was represented by Walid Alghanim as a Goalkeeper; Majed Al-Otaibi, Ibrahim Almanna, AbdulIlah Alsabt and Suleiman Al-Mutairi as defenders; Saud Alrabie, Nashi Almashqour, Abdullah Mukhallad and Abdullah Alomar as midfielders; Mohammed Ghazi and Mansour Alanzi as attackers; Saleh Almkhemar, Ibrahim Alsoanaa and Ibrahim al-Muhanna and Turki Alghannam as reserve players and the national coach Alhemeidi Alotaibi. Moreover, Mr. Nasser Alhanou, Mr. Abdulaziz Alkhalaf and Mr. Abdullah Al-Mutairi represented the university team at the administrative level. The game was constrained in the midfield even though there were attacks and pressure on the goal of Qassim University team. The first half of the game ended with 0-0 score. However, in the second half the university team continued its attacks on the opponent's goal until it scored the first goal by the player Mansour Alanzi after the fifth minute. Then, Alqassim University team tried its best and scored the equalizing goal. Afterwards, Alqassim University team continued to put pressure on Almajmaah University team's goal which forced captain Alhmeidi Alotaibi to make some changes in the team. These changes were limited to replacing Abdullah Alomar with Saleh Almkheimer and replacing Nashi Almashqour with Turki Alghannam. In fact, these two changes stroke a balance in the team and resulted in two successive goals by Abdullah Mokhallad. By that, Almajmaah university team ended the match brining the scores level at 3-1. This was stated by sporting and scouting activities supervisor, University teams supervisor and teams' administrator Mr. Nasser Alhanou who extended his thanks and appreciation to Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hamad Abdullah Alghemeizi for his continuous follow-up of team preparations and constant unlimited moral and financial support.. Mr. Alhanou concluded his speech offering thanks to the players who have made great efforts despite the shortage of players due to absence of most of the university team players and being busy with their clubs. However, those who played this game proved that enthusiasm and sporting spirit solved the shortage.
Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hamad Alghemaizi extended thanks and appreciation to the University Rector for his continuous follow-up and constant unlimited support for all activities and programs of Deanship of Student Affairs. Also, he congratulated the teamwork of the university football team (including players, coaches and administrators) on this privileged victory and urged them to keep achieving honorable results in the next football championships.
