A launching ceremony of ‘initiatives on volunteering’ was held by the university in the presence of MU rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren and officials as well as a number of directors of volunteering organizations.
At the outset of the ceremony, Mr. Turki Al-Humaidani delivered a speech on the significance of volunteering for the renaissance and development of any nation as research and practices have shown. Volunteering domain, according to Mr. Al-Humaidani, forms an important part of the kingdom vision 2030, where a plan was set to have one million volunteers by 2030. Mr. Al-Humaidan noted that the United Nations has considered the significance of volunteer by adopting the 5th of December, a day to be celebrated worldwide, which was also celebrated by the university.
Dr. Al-Mugren addressed the audience with a speech highlighting the endeavor of MU to maintain sustainable development and to contribute in the advancement of knowledge locally and internationally.
