INFORMATION SECURITY CLUB AT COLLEGE OF COMPUTER SCIENCE WINS 3RD POSITION IN HACKATHON

Another outstanding achievement made by the club of information security at the College of Computer Science and Information for winning the 3rd position in “Hackathon” competition which was organized by Vechoport # menaisc2017, will be held in connection with the fifth annual information security conference for the Middle East and North Africa region.

The students who won the prize: Mr. Mohammed Al-Suhaimi, Mr. Mohammed Al-Muqren and Mr. Thamer Al-Shemmri received the award from the CEO of STC which is an admission for a training program at STC which will end by recruiting the students along with a cash prize total 30.000.

Hackathon is a competition and challenge that brings together technology pioneers with outstanding skills to examine their skills in in information security and protection via a virtual environment.

14 teams from 10 different universities have participated in this competition.

Dr. Hisham Al-Saqeer, Dean of College of Computer Science, stated that this competition is considered as a real test for the outcomes of the university. Such conferences and competitions, added Dr. Al-Saqeer are attended by pioneer companies in the field of information technology.

Dr. Al-Saqeer expressed his appreciation to STC for organizing such competition that links education with the market which opens up more opportunities for students to be hired after graduation.
