MU PARTICIPATES IN A WORKSHOP ON 'INFORMATION SECURITY AWARENESS IN PUBLIC SECTORS'

 In light of the cooperation between the College of Computer Science and Information at MU and e-Government Program (Yassir), a workshop was conducted on the awareness of information security in public sectors. The aim of this workshop is to raise the awareness of government sectors about information security. More than 160 delegates, most of which are from government sectors, have participated in the workshop.

The workshop comprises four different sessions with six speakers as well as a plenary session. Four government sectors specialized in information security: e-Security Center in Interior Ministry, e-Government Program (Yassir),  Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and National Center for Digital Certification.

The workshop began by a speech for Eng. Abdul Aziz Al-Shuaibi, director of Yassir, followed by the first paper titled “e-Threats”, presented by Dr. Waleed Al-Faheed. The 2nd session under the title “ security breach” included 3 papers.

The plenary session titled “ e-security in public sectors: an integrated vision” was chaired by the Dean of Computer Science, Dr. Hisham Al-Saqeer.

The workshop was concluded by a number of recommendations presented by Dr. Ali Al-Hamdan, vice-dean for graduate studies and scientific research which will be submitted to e-Government Program.
