SIXTEEN PATENTS ARE AWARDED BY STUDENTS OF ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Creativities have been continuing by students of Engineering College as well as  the continuity of discoveries and inventions generated by students occasionally. Sixteen Patents by students  of Engineering College have been successfully recorded in King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology, where some of these patents have been recorded in The Patent Office of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. Inventions of College Students are considered as the best in serving the community and in the Saudi environment because these inventions have great advantages. For example, the invention which was submitted by Mohamed Ibrahim Al Sakrun, a second level student of Mechanical Engineering Department. He was recorded for three patents offering a new invention all over the Kingdom, where the first invention was recorded under the  title "Special Cooling System "; it  is a kind of  system that works on cooling water without chemical processes, such as Freon Gas. It also helps in  generating electricity via the use of solar cells, but concerning water cooling via system, it is done through fans and sprinklers exist inside the cooling room, where the speed of water cooling is about the rate of decline 10-15 degree in (20) minutes. Other advantages of the System are weight lightness, generating electricity, smooth shift, and not mixing any of the chemicals. It is used at homes for the purpose of cooling water in summer, it is also used in the desert for major projects such as cooling huge machines, and border guards can also benefit from this system since they are far away in areas in the desert away from electricity sources. This invention has been presenting in more than an exhibition of inventors, even one of the investors in the Kingdom proposed for purchasing this invention in an estimated sun of money about three million riyals because of the great importance of this invention within the Kingdom. The second invention is recorded under the title "Shock Absorber and Mines Detector Robot", it is a small light robot which detects mines places and metal objects in the military lands which is controlled by a remote control in addition to a screen connected with camera heading the device to view and define the kind of mine or metal. As for the Shock Absorber, there is a sensor heading the system with two functions, the first one is when it hits a barricade, it shifts to the opposite side and then restores back to the right direction for mines detection. The second function are the vibrations existing between the two sensors; they are vibrations alert for the presence of metal or mine through the cameras to define the type and features of the mine and how to deal with it.

Abdul Rahman Khalid Abdul Rahman Al Bawardi, a second year student of Electrical Engineering Department,  recorded three patents. This invention simulates a small device founding with information technology application, based on the principles of engineering economy; to help both sectors the engineering and management with all branches to get rid of the problems and  difficulties of using the economic transaction table, and makes the economic transactions easy to find within a short time and uncomplicated where it is also easy to deal with, run, and carry. Abdul Rahman Al Bawardi has been accepted with a testimony of protecting invention  in King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology and  in The Patent Office of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. The second invention is recorded under the title " Elimination of  Airborne Viruses " ,this  invention relates to a large electronic medical device connected with many small devices that are distributed on public places. This device eliminates Airborne Viruses such as AH1N1 "Swine Flu" and study their new species to find the appropriate vaccine to eliminate them, without any interference from the human crew. He has been accepted with a testimony of protecting invention  in King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology. Fahd Dhughaim Mohammad Al Ardhi, a third year student of Electrical Engineering Department, has recorded four patents. He has also awarded the eleventh rank in the Third Scientific Conference on Higher Education for male and female students in the Kingdom. Al Ardhi’s first invention is an adapter that opens  windows and ventilation fans automatically when gas is leaking or when fume is diffusing at homes, factories…..ect. The second invention are pumps that neutralize the vehicles and aircrafts fuel’s action automatically when accidents or major problems occur. This kind of pump can be used manually if there is a defective occurs in the vehicle or the aircraft for safety purposes. The third invention are smart batteries with a sensor  when  a problem or an  accident takes place in the vehicle, the batteries, with their innovative system,  automatically disconnect the electrical power, and before the disconnection  they unlock  the doors. The fourth invention is a speed detector of vehicles on highways and cities which has been earned four awards in the Kingdom, the first rank in several competitions, and the eleventh rank in the Third Scientific Conference on Higher Education for male and female students in the Kingdom. It is an integrated system that is placed on new vehicles, and be one of the conditions for adopting the vehicle.  Monitoring booths are placed on highways, so that when a vehicle is exceeding the limited speed, the device records speed for 24 hours. When passing the monitoring booths, they record speed and the system deletes the speed with which surpassed if not exceeding more than five minutes in the limited speed. There are also other inventions on progress. Abdul Rahman Al Fuhaid, a second year student of Mechanical Engineering Department, has recorded three patents in King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology and  in The Patent Office of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

He has presented the wondrous piston which completely relies on Mechanical Engineering  that is specialized in general engines , to reduce the theft of tires. These pistons are released to be stuck with the rim. When stealing a tire, one can not release the tire from the piston unless the owner of the vehicle does that; where the owner can control that via a button of two choices one for closing and the other for opening and also has the potential to move the car while pistons are closed. The second invention provides a great benefit to the environment, so when  Carbon Monoxide gas emits from cars’ exhaust, it causes pollution of the environment which is harmful to health. This invention is a friend of the environment, which in turn filters the smoke emitted from the exhaust into a natural gas which is gas of Oxygen. Tariq Sameh Hassan Shaqfa, a third year student of Mechanical Engineering Department, has recorded one invention under the title “Way of Circle and Controlling Wastes’ Separation in a Healthy Manner”. This invention relates to the current process of collecting wastes in any building to be recycled, where wastes are collected in an easy way, separated at the bottom of the building by a controlling device, and without waste of energy. All the system is working via  solar cells (alternative energy), It is also important mentioning that it is taking into account the health sector. The place, which wastes will be collected into to kill bacteria, is periodically sterilized , avoiding any health damages resulting from these wastes, taking into account the facility of the process of unloading the waste containers down the building when they are collected by the competent parties according to each type of wastes. Hazem Mohammed Mohammed Saeed, a second year student of Mechanical Engineering Department, has registered for a patent in King Abdul Aziz, and the idea of his invention is about a ground alarm that helps punctuality which is one of the most important requirements for success , so he designed a device that would help to wake up on time. The device also contains a property of  measuring and determining the ideal weight via inputing height and age information.
