MU INTERNATIONAL PROSTHETIC REHABILITATION CENTER LAUNCHED BY MU RECTOR

Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren, MU Rector, launched Mjamaah University International Prosthetic Rehabilitation Center in a launching ceremony held at the center in the main campus.
An introductory tour was made – prior the ceremony- by MU Rector and guests to the facilities of the center and they were briefed about the plans and the wide-range of services offered to patients.
Dr. Mazen Al-Ghatani, Dean of College of Applied Medical Science and Supervisor of the Center, delivered a speech highlighting the invariable strive of MU to contribute in substance and value to the national development of this nation via top-notch quality programs. With that in mind, Mjamaah University International Prosthetic Rehabilitation Center launched with the aim of providing physical therapy, medical rehabilitation, artificial limbs and prosthetics, caring for disabled people and conducting scientific research.
He added “ the establishment of this center is apparently a manifestation of the partnership between public sector, on one hand, and private and non-profit sectors, on the other hand.”
The audience watched a presentation about the center which was launched by Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bander bin Abdulaziz, in response to the absence of research centers specialized in medical rehabilitation and artificial limbs and prosthetics in Saudi Arabia.
The center was established based on MU Rector’s consent and in partnership with Al-Enayah Medics Company, one of the specialized companies in operating prosthetic rehabilitation centers. This project- funded by Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Sultan Charitable Foundation – offers medical rehabilitation services.
The center has three main divisions : Artificial limbs Department, Orthotics Department and Rehabilitation Department.
Addressing the audience, MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren extended his thanks to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their unlimited support to Saudi universities to fulfill its mission. Speaking of the partnership of MU with private and non-profit sectors, this would ultimately pay dividends for the citizens of this nation.
Dr. Al-Mugren concluded his remark by commending the unfailing commitment demonstrated by everyone for this center to exist in reality.
Memorial shields were presented by MU Rector at the end of the ceremony to the founder of this center including Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Sultan Charitable Foundation, Saudi Federation ‘medical committee’, Dr. Fahad Al-Dufairi, Vice-Rector of Shaqra’a University, IT Dean’s Office, Department of Operation and Maintenance, Legal Department and the Department of MU Security.
A memorandum of understanding was signed with the Medical Committee at the Saudi Federation and Al-Fayha Sports Club, represented respectively by Dr. Mubarak Al-Mutawa’a and Mr. Saud Al-Shalhoub.
