MU PARTICIPATES IN THE LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF SAUDI BUILDING CODE

Patronized by the Minister of Commerce and Investment, Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi, the Saudi Building Code National Committee (SBCNC) organized a launching ceremony in the presence of Minister of Housing, Mr. Majed Al-Huqail as well as a number of officials from public and private sectors.
Majmaah University was among the 18 entities that have participated in ceremony.
The Saudi Building Code is a group of terms and requirements as of laws, regulations and annexes related to buildings and constructions to ensure safety and public health.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Shehri, Head of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and a member at the SBCNC, said that MU has contributed in a number of managerial and coordinating aspects as well as revising the final draft of the 12 codes that were issued in the ceremony. Further codes are expected in the future which will have a positive impact on the construction sector in Saudi Arabia. “ I would like to extend my thanks to MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren for his support to all MU staff’s participation to serve this nation” added Dr. Al-Shehri.
