COMPUTER SCIENCE & INFORMATION COLLEGE HOLDS TWO WORKSHOPS FOR THE ACADEMIC ACCREDITATION OF COMPUTER AND ENGINEERING MAJORS

A workshop was organized by the College of Science & Information in coordination with the Deanship of Quality and Skills Development and the presence of the dean Dr. Hisham Al-Saqeer at the training hall of the deanship. The workshop titled “ Academic Accreditation ABET and Faculty members Role” was presented by Prof. Reda Ammar, Head of Computer Engineering & Science Dep. at Conttecat American University.

At the outset of the workshop, a brief introduction was provided about the ABET institution and expected goals of the academic accreditation. Prof. Ammar gave a detailed explication about the course and its requirements which commences with an examination for the institution’s status and ends with the self-assessment & development.

The workshop was attended by a great deal of faculty members as well as representatives from the Quality and Skills Development Deanship.

Another workshop was held titled “ Committees and Policies” presented by Prof. Ammar where he gave a full account of the structure that should be approved by the college to be eligible for applying at academic accreditation as a first step.
