VICE-RECTOR: DEVELOPING ACADEMIC PROGRAMS IS PREREQUISITE FOR UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT

The Department of Programs at the Vice-Rector’s Office for Academic Affairs has organized a workshop entitled “Development of Academic Programs (The implications of recent academic trends and national and global developments on the development of academic programs).

Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Bin Ali Al Rumaih and the heads of the relevant units attended the workshop at the Office.

The workshop started with an opening speech by Dr. Rumaih, who welcomed the participants and stressed that the development of the study programs and institutional reviews had been a prerequisite for a university keen on institutional development.

Dr. Rumaih pointed to the support of the University Rector for all efforts aimed at the University realizing its vision and mission.

For his part, Dr. Essam Al-Malki, supervisor of Dr. Rumaih’s office, said that the workshop focused on the importance of developing and updating the curricula and the bases and criteria for developing the university academic programs.

During the workshop, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Qawasmi, Director of Programs, talked about the vision of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs to improve the efficiency of the targeted units and activate their contribution to the achievement of the University goals.

The workshop is part of a series of workshops aimed at communicating directly with its units in order to enhance the efficiency of performance according to the best practices.
