Approval of the Plan by the University Council
In line with the implementation of the university’s strategic plan, and in accordance with governance requirements, the Social Responsibility Observatory at Majmaah University has developed and secured approval for its operational plan from the University Council. This step comes in support of the university’s goals of promoting comprehensive governance and elevating its institutional status. The plan was established based on Article (1) of the Higher Education Council and Universities Bylaw issued by Royal Decree No. (8), dated 4/6/1414 AH, which affirms community service as one of the university’s core functions. It also aligns with Clause (16) of Article (20) of the same bylaw, which assigns to the University Council the authority to approve extracurricular activity plans, and Clause (20) of the same article, which grants the Council the jurisdiction to review matters referred to it by the Minister of Higher Education or the University President. Accordingly, the University Council was presented with the request for approval of the Social Responsibility and Community Service Plan for the academic year 1446–1447 AH, and the Council has granted its approval.
