MU RECTOR CHAIRS SECOND VIRTUAL MEETING OF THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL 1440/1441 AH

In line with the precautionary measures taken by the university against coronavirus, MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren chaired the sixth session of the university council for the academic year 1440/1441 AH.
The meeting went virtual for the second time in the presence of the University Affairs Secretary General, Dr. Mohammed Al-Saleh, vice-rectors and deans.
In light of the exceptional circumstances that country is experiencing, MU Rector launched the session by highlighting the major role played by the government of this country to provide everything that citizens and residents would need during this historical stage.
In view of the collaboration of all the country’s bodies, Dr. Al-Muqren singled out the enormous efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education during this period.
The Rector also extended his thanks to the university staff for complying with the precautionary measures and performing their work remotely; faculty members for their unfailing commitment to maintain the educational process; and the students, who are the core of the entire educational process, for being diligent to excel in their academic study.
The Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and the Council Secretary General, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shayaa reviewed the topics of the meeting agenda, and the following decisions and recommendations were made:
Approval for granting degrees to undergraduate and graduate students who are expected to graduate this year; approval for the university’s academic year 1442/1443 AH; approval for recruitment and sabbatical leave for some faculty members; approval for the deanship of student affairs’ plan of next year activities and programs; and approval to amend some the operational rules of faculty member’s promotion regulation. At the end of the session, Dr. Al-Muqren thanked the Deanship of Information Technology for its efforts to ensure the success of this meeting.
