Almajma'ah University Libraries and the Services of Users
The university libraries offer services to the university teaching staff, male and female students, administrative staff and external users. The university libraries receive their users from Sunday to Thursday from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm. Also, the university libraries offer guiding and consultation services, printing and photocopying and borrowing books. The libraries provide research tools of information resources through the guides and electronic catalogs. The following is some explanations for these services:
Internal Reading Service:
The Deanship through the central library and branch libraries in faculties offers internal reading service and provides comfortable environment for research and reading. Also, it provides the services of printing and photocopying of research, studies and articles.
Guiding and Consultation Service
In 1434/1435, the Deanship received a quite number of student delegation under the supervision of teaching staff in the main library and a number of branch libraries, and the Deanship staff explained to them the mechanism of utilizing the library and how to benefit the most from the services provided by the Deanship of Libraries Affairs.
Reference and Replying to Questions and Enquiries Service
The Deanship has given plenty of answers to the enquiries of library users from different departments of the university depending on referential resources such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, reports and guides whether printed or electronic.
Printing and Photocopying Service
The Deanship provides printing and photocopying service to the students by supplying some printers and photocopiers in the libraries for the students to use according to certain rules.
External Borrowing Service
The Deanship, represented by the main library and branch libraries, offered the borrowing service for the university staff and students. There have been 3000 borrowing processes throughout the present year.
Daily Newspapers and Magazines Reading Service
The Deanship provided some daily newspapers and scientific and cultural magazines for internal reading inside the main library and branch libraries.
Automatic Research on the Internet and Electronic Databases Service
The Deanship provided the service of research on the internet for students and teaching staff through supplying some computers and wired and wireless electronic points in order to facilitate using computers and research on the internet. This year, the Deanship has subscribed to (108) full-text databases that cover a number of humanities and scientific fields. Also, there has been subscription to the Saudi Digital Library, the service of searching in the unified electronic catalog of the university libraries in the way of providing all information resources for the users of students and teaching staff. Therefore, the Deanship installed an electronic catalog for the university libraries through which users could search for books and other information objects within the main library and branch libraries. In fact, this facilitates the process for users and saves them some time and efforts in identifying the availability of information objects. The catalog link is:
