A WORKSHOP CONDUCTED OFFICE OF THE DEAN FOR E-LEARNING ON VIRTUAL REALITY IN MEDICINE

The Office of the Dean for e-Learning and Distance Education conducted a workshop to introduce the use and benefits of virtual reality technology for learning medicine.
The workshop was presented by Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector, a number of faculty teaching and Dr. Omar Al-Sa’edi, Vice-Dean for Technical Affairs.
The technology of virtual reality creates a 3-D model where education becomes a more effective and engaging experience, particularly in the field of medicine.
The unique approach to learn human anatomy was also explained using a high-detailed 3-D models that allow students to visualize the human body in a more complex form. It is also possible to design any part of human body in 3-D such as the Cardiovascular System, lymphatic system, nervous system, Respiratory system and Muscular system .
