HE the Rector inaugurates the E-courses Development and Production Center

Sponsored by the HE the Rector Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Mugrin, the E-courses Development and Production Center at the University was inaugurated on Monday, 04/27/1436 in the presence of HE the Vice-Rector Dr. Musallam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Rumaih and a number of deans and members of the Colleges and the Director of Public Relations and Media.
The center is one of the qualified centers, which adopts its own methodology for the production and development of university e-courses which have been developed and implemented by operating competences at there.

The inauguration began with a speech of HE the Vice-Rector, and the Dean of e-learning and learning and distance learning explaining the idea behind this project and the current and future visions that are held by the center. Then, HE the Vice-Dean for Technical Affairs and the Executive Director of the Center Dr. Omar Al-Saeedi presented the process of building the center and its vision which cope with the global trends in the development of e-courses, its message which focuses on traditional courses conversion into interactive e-courses, to be available for students via the World Wide Web, giving faculty members the required instructional design skills, develop students’ electronic skills in dealing with e-courses , the Centre's objectives and development methodology of courses and approved models for development and its controls and the selection of courses and its authors.

It is worth mentioning that the center adopts the Global Quality Matters standards, which are the latest and the best specialized international standards in electronic courses. The center has developed an electronic system specialized for development models which includes a set of procedural specific technical steps, these steps are handled electronically through providing  the authors of courses accounts that allow them to complete the development models which are about (19) models that had been developed within the e-system.

Developed Courses are currently varied between different scientific disciplines where they are targeting (30) course in the current phase.

At the end of the meeting, HE the Rector the Vice-Rector, and the Dean of e-learning and distance learning Dr. Musallam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari and all employees at the center and expressed his admiration for what he saw of high professionalism in the development of the center and the rules and trends that took place there. His Excellency was pleased for the current university achievements that match important Saudi universities, and this is due to the colleagues’ high ambitions and their great scientific expertise, calling on colleges and academic departments to activate those electronic courses in pursuit to take advantage of what has been made of effort, thoughts and time.
