In accordance to the invitation from the Ministry of Higher Education represented by the National Centre for e-learning and distance learning, the Rector Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Mugren directed the Deanship of e-learning and distance learning to represent the university in this annual scientific occasion held at Al-Jouf University and organised in collaboration with the National Centre attended by the deans of e-learning and distance learning in Saudi universities. The deanship was represented by HE the Vice Dean of e-learning and distance learning for Educational Affairs Dr. Khalid Al-mudaibry and the Director of the Training Unit Mr. Faisal Al-Shammari and a number of the Deanship staff.
The seminar focused on a number of Discussion themes, most notably the organisational factors, which revolves around the leadership and programs plans and vision and financial support. In addition to human factors, which include training, rehabilitation and staff. Also, the technical factors which examines the technical solutions and innovation and development. Also, on the sideline of the seminar the periodical meeting of the deans of e-learning was held to discuss a number of issues and challenges facing the e-learning and distance learning, it highlighted the following issues:
The mechanisms and ways to enhance communication between the deans of e-learning and with the National Centre for e-learning and distance learning. Also, the possibility to participate in practices as factors leading to the success of e-learning in the international and local universities.
On the other hand, the deanship participated in the events associated with the seminar by offering specialised courses in e-learning, where Mr. Faisal Al-Shammari presented a training course about cloud computing applications in education requested by the National Centre for e-learning and distance learning, the training course was attended by 40 participants from from the Saudi universities faculty members who expressed their desire to transfer the training courses offered by the Deanship to their university. Also, the Dean of e-learning and distance education at Al- Jouf University honoured the Director of the Training Unit Mr. Faisal Al-Shammari, for his efforts in providing training courses in the field of e-learning.
Also, The Deanship of e-learning and distance learning experience at the university to spread the culture of e-learning and educational e-services and distinguished educational projects for faculty members and students was highly praised by a number of participants, especially the project that was launched recently for community service training and e-learning.
HE the Vice Rector and the Dean of e-learning and distance learning Dr. Musallam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari and the delegation expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Rector for agreeing to participate in various forums related to the activities of the Deanship and for his constant support for the developmental projects, this is reflected on the staff to earn the appropriate expertise that qualifies them to work on the development of e-learning and its tools at the university.
