Department of Pediatrics

About the Department:

The department of pediatrics was established together with the beginning of the college of medicine in 2010. Pediatrics department is considered as one of the major department in college of medicine. The department is responsible for teaching of pediatrics module to the medical students in clinical phase. It enables them to master the basics of pediatrics and to understand the normal developmental milestones as well as the common clinical problems. It also guides the students to formulate a proper diagnosis and address the management.

It involves many subspecialties, including:

Neonatology.

Pediatric Pulmonology.

Pediatric Infectious diseases.

Pediatric intensive care.

Pediatric Endocrinology.

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology.

Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Pediatric Gastroenterology.

Pediatric Cardiology.

Pediatric Nephrology.

Pediatric Allergy and Immunology.

Pediatric Genetics and Metabolic diseases.

Responsibilities:

1-Teaching and training of medical students in a creative learning environment.

2-Contribute to medical scientific researches.

3-Providing a good medical care for children with international standards.

4-Participation in community services according to the strategic plans of the college of medicine.
