MU WINS TAMKEEN PRIZE IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In recognition of its leading role in fulfilling the requirements of sustainable development, the Social Responsibility Observatory (SRO) at Majmaah University has won the International Award of Excellence of Tamkeen Partners in the ceremony held at the Arab Planning Institute, Kuwait.
Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector and Chairman of SRO, received the prize which was granted to MU, in collaboration with a number of regional and international specialized commissions accredited by the United Nations in the field of government and private institutions’ contributions in social responsibility and sustainable development, in recognition of its efforts in establishing sustainable institutions social responsibility field and to forming partnership with institutions and individuals.
A scientific paper was presented by Dr. Faisal Al-Mutairi, Supervisor of SRO which highlighted the university’s experience in consolidating the concept of nation among the university’s staff and local community. The university has gone through three stages to achieve its objectives. The first stage focused on building a strategy to develop the skills of the university staff and community members in line with the objectives of sustainable development 2030. The second phase relied on developing a training program for the university staff and community members with the theme “ Applications of UN Sustainable Development’s Objectives 2030. The last stage included conducting field visits to concerned sectors to oversee and learn from the pioneering experience in this field.
Prof. Al-Dosari, extended his thank to MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren for his support to all activities organized by the university and particularly SOR’s programs. This award will motivate us to exert more efforts and dedications to achieve more success.
