First Phase of Internal Quality Review

The first phase of Quality Review Project at Majmaah University has started implementing the Quality and Development Deanship plan of the current academic year with the continuous and full support of Dr. Khalid Al-Muqrin, the University Rector, and Dr. Ahamd Al-Rumih, The Educational Affairs Deputy. The first visit of internal review was launched to assess the college academic programs according to the national accreditation criteria of the National Academic Accreditation Agency. This is a significant step taken by Majmaah University to ensure meeting the conditions of academic accreditation. In an effort to ensure accurate assessment of academic programs and its satisfaction of accreditation needs, the Deanship of Quality and Development has been working hard during the previous period to prepare a handbook of internal review within the University. A special review team in Zulfi was formed to check the 3 academic programs i.e. physics, mathematics and computer science of the College. The team headed by Dr. Khalid Muhammad Al-Jarallah has visited the faculty of science in Zulfi in 06/05/1436 for checking the quality process and procedures taken towards a national programs accreditation. Dr. Muhammad Al-Aboudi, the College Dean, and Dr. Mufawaz Al-Harbi, Deputy of Quality and Development have received the team. The team’s visit focused on checking the College academic programs, documents and procedures. It took 7 hours from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Interviews with the College leaders, faculty staff and students were conducted. A concluding meeting was held to disclose check results, and point out the advantages of the visit and recommendations of improvement. At the end of the visit, the Dean of the College of Science and faculty staff thanked the team and promised they would carefully oversee the implementation of the recommendations, particularly while the college is preparing for receiving the German quality review team (ASIIN). The Deanship of Quality and development will provide a detailed report in both English and Arabic of the results of the visit within a week.
