THE VICE-RECTOR LAUNCHES THE DOCUMENT DESTRUCTION FACILITY UNDER THE ARCHIVES AND RECORDS FACILITY

The Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehri, launched the University’s Document Destruction Facility under the Archives and Records Center. 

During the inauguration, Prof. Al-Shehri was briefed on the document management process, starting from receiving documents from various departments to the destruction facility.

A hands-on demonstration was given of the full document lifecycle, including sorting, inspection, and verification steps. The document data is then submitted to the destruction committee to be checked and forwarded to the National Center for Archives and Records for official approval to proceed with the destruction.

Prof. Al-Shehrii was also introduced to the scanning laboratory, the latest equipment, and the procedural steps involved that ensure safe handling of sensitive documents.

The Vice-Rector commended the significant efforts of the Archives and Records Center in document management and destruction procedures which contribute to enhancing institutional governance and preserving the university's information memory.
