Workshops to qualify Lecturers and Teaching Assistants for Scholarship and Research

The Department of Scholarship and Training at the Graduate and Scholarship Department organized a series of workshops to prepare lecturers and teaching assistants for scholarship and research.

The workshops are part of the efforts of the University Department for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research to support University students and lecturers to achieve academic excellence in their respective fields.

The program included four different workshops from 9:00 to 11:00 aiming at developing academic and research skills of lecturers.

The first workshop- moderated by Dr. Said banawas- addressed the techniques of academic research and publishing in internationally-recognized journals, while Dr. Ramzi Al-Zaid presented the second workshop, which focused on research proposals.

The third session included a brief presentation about American universities and their education systems.

The fourth and final discussion session- presented by Dr. Tawfiq Al Kanhal- addressed the topic of how to apply to British universities and the education system.

On the other hand, the Department organized a similar program for the Women's Section with 3 workshops on a variety of topics aimed at developing the academic skills of researchers.

The first workshop-entitled "Research Proposal Preparation Techniques”-was presented by Dr. Rana Al-Abdan, Assistant professor of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University. She discussed the accuracy of the proposal, drafting the title and methods of presenting the research problems and questions.

The second workshop addressed the method of applying to American universities and the education system followed there.
