انطلاقاً من حرص الجامعة على إنشاء و تجهيز المستشفى الجامعي، وتنفيذا للخطة المقدمة من وزارة التعليم العالي لإنشاء و تجهيز مستشفيات جامعية في كافة مناطق المملكة لتقديم رعاية صحية تلبي احتياجات أفراد المجتمع، وتؤكد الحرص على ممارسة الجامعات السعودية لدورها في التوعية الصحية التثقيفية للمجتمع إلى جانب هدفها الأكاديمي الصحي وسعيها لتهيئة البيئة المناسبة لتعليم وتدريب الكوادر الصحية السعودية ودعم البحث العلمي، حرصت اللجنة التنفيذية على الاهتمام بكل ما يخص إنجاز المشروع بجودة و كفاءة عالية وفق خطة زمنية محددة.

The establishment of the university hospital is a clear manifestation of the university concern to serve the society. It is also a compliance with the long-term vision of the Ministry of Education to establish highly equipped university hospitals across the state. The primary aim of these hospitals, beside the academic role, is to provide first-class services to the society at large. This indicates that the university’s roles are not confined to academia but extends to raising the health awareness in society.
