The CIFAL Saudi Center, organized, in collaboration with the College of Nursing, an awareness session titled "Early Detection of Cervical Cancer: A Preventive Approach to Promoting Sustainable Health." The session was held in the presence of a group of experts and specialists in the fields of health and sustainable development. Dr. Jawhara Al-Osaimi, Consultant in Family Medicine and Women's Health, and Director of the Women's Health Program at Prince Sultan Military Medical City, presented the session and was moderated by Dr. AbeerAl-Otaibi, Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and Expert in the Applications of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Al-Osaimi discussed cervical cancer in the context of public health, explaining the scientific definition of the disease and the factors that influence its spread. She highlighted the importance of early detection and its effective role in preventing the disease and reducing infection rates, noting that early detection can save the lives of many women.
Dr. Al-Osaimi also addressed preventive vaccinations against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), highlighting their significant role in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. She pointed out that vaccinations are a cornerstone of cervical cancer prevention and called for increased awareness of their importance within the community.
