The Unit of Intellectual Awareness in collaboration with Deanship of Student Affairs and Department of Public Media held the intellectual forum for students under the patronage of Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren MU Rector and the presence of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih.
The forum which took place at the main campus addressed several topics such moderation and extremism, the five necessities and their importance in Sharia and significance of promotion of virtues and prevention of vices.
The forum aimed to promote personal and social skills among students and to instill values such as tolerance, moderation and patriotism. Dangerous belief such as excommunication (takfir) was also highlighted. Students were also educated about the negative impact of social media as it becomes a platform where rumors and intellectual deviation are common.
