FACULTY OF ENGINEERING OPENS REGISTRATION AND EXAMINATIONS CENTRE

Within the continuous keenness of the Engineering College  to improve the administrative  process , and its pursuit  to search for methods and new possibilities to help  students during the courses registration process, a center for students' registration was opened in the college;  a registration room has been opened for students under the auspices of his Excellency the  Dean of the College, Dr. Mohammed Al Salamah, and under the  supervision of the Registration, Tables, and Examinations committee in the Faculty of Engineering. In such away, students of the College can register smoothly in a specific and separate Centre in the College with an easy, comfortable, and quick administrative  procedures.  Dr. Tariq Nabil, in charge of the team in the registration hall, stated  this important step  comes within the facilities presented by the College to its students , ensures the completion of the administrative procedures and provides the needed  information before and during the process of registering courses. He also added  the Registration, Tables, and Examinations committee aspires to develop and expand the work  and increases its effectiveness through the addition of another room for registration , because the team received  more than (250) application for registering  students who had faced problems during the registration process within  the first ten days of  opening  the registration Hall , as well as the team's participation with (22) transaction for courses equivalency studied by the college students outside the university. Dr. Sameh Ahmed, of Civil Engineering Department,  stated   the registration of students in a specific  hall  is a positive step in upgrading and improving the process of registering students, because it  makes  work more accurate and less errors and  gives  space of freedom to modify tables commensurate with the advantage of the students and faculty members . Mr. Ala Eldin Barghash, Head of Student Affairs in the team of Hall Registration, said this Hall has served the students better and facilitated  deletion and addition procedures. Mr. Sultan Olayan, an administrative employee in the registration section, said that the registration process has become easier after the creation of such suitable working environment for employees. Faris Al-Mutairi, a fourth level student in the Electrical Engineering,  said that the new registration process is much better than the old one in terms of saving students' time,  wishing that students could be able to have a list of the required  courses  for the academic semester in adequate time before the registration process. Shojah Al Dosari, a fourth level student in the Civil Engineering , said that the new registration way has facilitated the registration process for students,  wishing the presence  of the heads of  departments in the registration hall to provide counseling for students.  Maher Abdulla h Al-Mutairi,  an eighth level student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, said  that the new registration procedures  are much better than the old ones n terms of  quick completion of the administrative transactions. Adding the  number of administrative staff is suitable for the number of the college students and sufficient to complete  their transactions of registration. At the end, he suggested some solutions to solve the problems that would face students in the registration process. For example,  verbal consultations with the official employee who is in charge instead of sending formal writing letters. Abdullah Mohammed Al Harbi,  a ninth level student in the Department of Electrical Engineering, said that the new registration process is more comfortable and quicker for students , where the old registration process was consuming a lot of time. Then, he  suggested expanding the hall of registration and increasing the number of the staff, wishing the registration of the optional courses turns to be  online rather than visiting the hall of registration in person.  Riad Saif Al Sahli, a fifth level student in the Department of Civil Engineering, said that the new registration process  is much more better than the old one because it has a direct contact with the academic advisor in the Hall of registration, whom he provides advice in the areas of previous requirements prior to the registration of each subject, and makes great facilities to complete the registration process ,  wishing the presence of  faculty members partially  in the registration hall to activate its work. Mohammed Al-Shahrani,  a third level student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, said the new registration way is better because the hall is not crowded with students as usual during the registration period, and if a student wants to add a course, he can do that  in less than five minutes. Ryan Thumairy, a  fifth level student in the Department of Civil Engineering, said the registration Hall of the College of Engineering is an excellent idea which saved the time to finalize the process of registering the academic courses, wishing to increase the number of staff in the hall to  improve the efficiency of their work.  Sultan Abdullah Almqil, a third level student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, said I added an academic course  via the registration hall of the  Faculty of Engineering,   the process of addition was much better because the administrative officer was quicker in responding to my request and studying my transaction and finally registering me. He added there's a simple hitch which is the need of the registration process to  Dr. Tariq Nabil's signature,  in charge of the team in the registration hall, where he sometimes could be outside the Hall of Registration, wishing the presence of a substitute in terms  of signing the transactions.
