THE UNIVERSITY COUNCIL RECOMMENDS THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A UNIT CONCERNED WITH THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF VOLUNTEER WORK

 

In its first meeting of the new academic year

The University Council recommends the establishment of a unit concerned with the growth and development of volunteer work

 

On behalf of the Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Angari who is the president of the University Council, His Highness the Rector Dr. Khalid Bin Sa'ad al-Mogren chaired the first meeting of the University Council for the academic year 1433 H/1434 H in the conference room in His Highness the Rector's Office. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Council of Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh (through visual communication), deputies of the university and Deans of Colleges and Supported Deanships. The Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Research and the Secretary of the Board Dr. Mohsen bin Abdul Rahman Al-Mohsen clarified that the Rector initiated the meeting by welcoming everyone in the first session of the new academic year. He also thanked all colleagues including faculty members and administrators whose contracts were finished last year and had participated in the construction of the university. He congratulated all on the achievements of the University during the last academic year. His Highness also stressed the importance of following the same approach of excellence and to double the effort and speed in achievements. He also called upon everyone to invest all the facilities provided by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. After that, the Council discussed a number of academic issues including the development of Academic Advising at the University and its development within the college as well as the importance of enhancing the skills of university students in volunteer work and to coordinate with all competent authorities. The council also discussed the formation of some standing committees as well as adding new members to the Scientific Council. The Council also recommended the establishment of a unit concerned with the growth and development of volunteer work at the university. This unit's performance shall be evaluated over a period of time to be the nucleus of a specialized center in this field. The Council also endorsed some administrative decisions for some employees of the university.
