His High the Rector Dr. Khalid Bin Sa'ad Al-Mogren inaugurated a the office of project management and its E-portal as well as the project management system, during a ceremony on this occasion in the auditorium of the university attended by their Excellencies Vice Rectors,Deans of Colleges and Deanships and Manager of Departments. the ceremony initiated by a recitation of the Holly Quran followed by a presentation for both of Engineer Abdullah Bin Saleh Al Saleh, Head of Planning Unit in the office and Ayman Jameel Barakati, Head of Implementation and Monitoring Unit where they briefed the audience about the establishment and development of the project and its e-portal as well as its internal system which began on the sixth of Ramadan in 1432 H. A clarification was made about the achievements of Al-Sadarah Digital Company. The project will be following a plan that will be followed up continuously and directly by the committee supervising the project which includes Dr. Musallam Al- Dossary, General Gupervisor of the Rector Office and His Excellency Dr. Hamad Al-Omran adviser of the Rector. They mentioned that the project began by assessing the current status of project management at the university and measure the level of maturity in comparison to international standards in project management and subsequently the work was started by training and developing gradually the skills of those who are involved in the projects with the help of a Canadian consultant coach from ECBD Consulting Inc, the exclusive partner of the contractor and a number of Saudi advisers accredited in the field of project management,who are PhD holders and have practical experience in this area for years. They also added that His Highness the Rector directed the establishment of the re-engineering of procedures committee to work with advisers from Al-Sadarah Co. It was also recommended to form "an advisory committee to study the project" which supports the Office in providing advice requested by the office or requested by the leadership of the university as well as studying the status of the projects, the possibility of cumbersome and providing proposals and solutions that may help in returning it back to its right path.After that, Eng. Mohamed Bin Abdullah Al-Sahli, project manager, reviewed a brief summary of the internal gate's of the projects which concerns with news, photos and activities of the projects and the lessons and education necessary in the field of project management. Then His Highness the Rector of the University delivered a speech in which he praised the efforts of the supporters of the project activities including leaders and university staff and their cooperation to overcome all difficulties. He also praised the contractor and their concerns to complete the project according to its requirements and its time being specified with high quality. He considered the success of the project management as a big achievement added to the successes and achievements of the university due to the support by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the efforts of loyal men of the university. Finally, His Highness awarded a number of employees of the university with certificates of thanks and appreciation and then stressed his commitment and personal follow-up of the project results due to its importance and what will be added to the University of technical and administrative progress.
