The College of Sciences in Zulfi has successfully been granted the International Academic Accreditation for the totality of its programs (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Information Systems) by the German Committee for International Academic Accreditation (ASIIN) which is specialized in accrediting elementary Sciences programs. Thus, the college is now ranked fourth among Saudi colleges that have achieved international accreditation for the totality of their programs.
His Excellency the Rector of Majmaah University, Dr. Khalid Bin Saad Almogran, has expressed his sincere contentment with this valuable achievement that just reflects and consolidates the university's successes in more than one domain. His excellency has also expressed his gratitude to the college's dean, rectors, department heads, quality assurance coordinators, faculty and staff for their unresentful will to bring the whole project of academic accreditation to life, and he has also thanked all other parties that played an effective role in this.
Notwithstanding its yearning for national accreditation, his Excellency the Rector has cited other successes that have been achieved by the university, among them is the granting of the Iso Certificate 9001-2008 from the British Standards Institution and the ABET International Accreditation that has been achieved by the Department of Medical Instruments, together with many other achievements like – to cite but a few – the project for lab-maintenance and upgrading at the College of Sciences and the College of Applied Medical Sciences aiming at postulating for the International Certificate OHSAS 18001; the establishment of Quality and Skills Development Deanship, a Central Quality Assurance Committee, and a General Quality Assurance Committee. His Excellency the Rector has also expressed his sincere gratitude to his Majesty the King and all other government officials for their unconditional support for the university.
During a speech that he has delivered for the occasion, Dr. Muhamed Alaboudy, Dean of The College of Sciences, has also added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always given top priority to education and the development of all academic institutions and has always striven for achievement and success in this respect. The University's success, he added, crowns all these endeavors, and it is thanks to the diligent care of his Excellency the Rector and the efforts of all parties involved in the Quality Assurance Program at the college that we have been granted the International Accreditation from the ASIIN for the totality of our programs and that we have been given the International OHSAS 18001 Certificate for the good quality and maintenance of our labs. All this has been the fruit of the laborious work of all parties involved in Quality Assurance programs at the college including his Excellency the Rector, Counsellor Dr. Muhamed Al-rukban, various quality assurance committees, faculty, staff, and students as well.
