Electronic Databases & Digital Library Training Course at the University

The Deanship of Library Affairs University Organized in cooperation with the Saudi Digital Library a training course about the use of electronic databases and the Saudi Digital Library. His Excellency the Dean of Library Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Ibrahim Al Omran inaugurated the training program entitled “Rules of Electronic Databases & the Digital Library". The course lasted for two days at took place at Majmaah University, Training Hall in the new university Campus.  

More than forty members of the teaching staff and similar staff from the university various colleges and Deanships participated in the course. The first day of the course started by talking about the Saudi Digital Library, method of search and how to benefit from the library services. It also included training on how to use Ovi & Springer databases. The second day program included training on a variety of databases: Ecolink, Edusearch IEEE, AskZad, Academic Search premier, Wilson Applied Sci and Tech, Statref, EBSCO communication Mass Media, Eric, Medline, Lisa .  

This training program is considered the fourth training program held by the Deanship at the university level within an ongoing series of courses under the "Information Awareness Program" which the Deanship seeks to convene. The Dean of Libraries Affairs at Majmaah University Dr. Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al Omran provided his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Rector Dr. Khaled bin Saad Al Muqren for his continuing unlimited support is to the Deanship programs and plans. Thanks were also extended to His Excellency the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Mohsen Bin Abdul Rahman Al Mohsen for his support for the Deanship programs. Dr. Al Omran also thanked the management staff of the Saudi Digital Library for their active participation in establishing of such programs in all Saudi universities.
