1-The author has to submit a request to the chairperson of the concerned department to state his/her desire to publish a book through the official channels of the University. The author has to identify the symbol of the course , its number and its title for which he/she will author the book or parts of a book.(if the book is associated with an academic course).
2-The author has to attach with his request the items of the academic course for which he will write a book, including three copies from his book project and additional CD copy. Too, he has to attach publishing request form and an acknowledgement of copyright and publishing rights.
3-If the department council agrees to the publishing request, the department will nominate a number of six specialized evaluators at least to judge the validity of the book. The department has to be committed to use the book as an academic course for three years after being published.
4-The College council has to consider the validity of the recommendation of the Department council. In case of giving consent, it nominates a number of six evaluator at least; subsequently it will refer the whole issue to the Publishing and Translation Center.
5-The project of the book has to be referred to the Permanent Committee of Scientific Publishing affiliated to the Scientific Council to make sure that the book project meets the necessary requirements and publishing conditions stipulated by the University and to recommend the names of the evaluators.
6-The Permanent Committee of Scientific Publishing will communicate the names of the committee members concerned with book evaluation and judgment , being composed of three members, to the Scientific Council.
7-The Scientific council has to form a committee for reviewing the book project after investigating the recommendation of the Permanent Committee of Scientific Publishing.
8-Each evaluator has to be held accountable for providing a detailed report which indicates whether the book project will be valid for publishing or not , with filling in the report of book assessment.
9- The Scientific council has to critically review the reports of the evaluators in the light of the recommendations of the Scientific Publishing Committee. In case of approving the book project, the head of the Scientific Council will refer a copy from the reports issued by the reviewing committee to the Publishing and Translation Center which is entitled to address the author to either make the remarks dictated in the reports of the evaluators or to provide his explanation and justification in case of being not convinced by such remarks. Thus, the Administration Council of Publishing and Translation Center will be fully satisfied that the author will be automatically committed to make the dictated modifications. In doing so, it may resort to a specialist.
10-The manager of Publishing and Translation Center will send the report to the Scientific Council with a hard copy from the book project after making the necessary modifications, and an electronic copy on CD based on Microsoft word. The illustrations and drawing should be saved using Tiff extension or Photoshop.
11-The book project has to be referred to the Scientific Publishing Committee. After giving its consent, it will propose the number of copies submitted for printing and assess the amount of the remuneration given to the author, editor, and reviewer.
12. Studying the recommendations issued by the committee, the Scientific Council will refer the book to Publishing and Translation Committee to complete the necessary steps for publishing.
13-An agreement shall be entered into by and between the University, represented by the manager of publishing and translation center and the author for publishing the book. This agreement shall be subjected to the applicable bylaws and regulations in the University.
14- The remuneration proposed by the scientific council shall be paid after fully completing the necessary steps of the printing process of the book. Subsequently , it will address the Publishing and Translation Center for paying such remuneration to the author.
