MU RECTOR CONDUCTS A VIRTUAL MEETING WITH NEW STUDENTS

A virtual meeting was held by MU rector, Dr. Khalid al-Muqren with new enrolled students in the presence of vice-rectors and deans. The link of the meeting was made available for students and faculty member on all social media platforms.
Organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, the meeting began by a welcoming speech for the dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Khalid al-Ofaisan who said that despite the exceptional circumstances, the Deanship has achieved all the goals set for activities and programs inside and outside the university.
The Deanship, which receives special care from MU rector, is striving to fulfill the university’s vision, mission and goals.
In his statement, MU rector, Dr. al-Muqren commended the massive support provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and His Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in all aspects of life and particularly the education sector.
The new academic year began amid extraordinary conditions which will not hinder students’ strong determination, but, to the contrary, will motivate them for further success and achievements.
Given the spread of COVID-19 in the entire world, the university has proposed alternative procedures to ensure that the educational process is undergoing smoothly.
The university had a head start in applying distance learning for some the courses over the past years, an act that helped the university in achieving great success based on the reports submitted to me, added Dr. al-Muqren. Distance learning is a form of utilizing technology for learning based on study plans.
The rector also praised students for showing full cooperation over the last period which contributed in the success of distance learning.
In a special message to faculty members, Dr. al-Muqren encouraged them to undertake their duty in a professional manner and based on the highest standards of quality and excellence; adopt themselves to the current situation to help the university in undertaking its role in education, research and community service; and open for students all communication channels with the university units to overcome their problems, if any.
Dr. al-Muqren shared pieces of advice with the students, encouraging them to adhere to moral principles; dedicate in their academic study since day one; learn about their rights and duties; honor their parents and be as careful in the company they keep.
Concluding his remarks, the rector pointed out that all officials at university will keep their door wide open for students whose problems and solving them are fundamental to the university.
