VIVA VOCE FOR MA CANDIDATES CONDUCTED AT MU

Given the current pandemic lockdown and in line with the precautionary measures placed by the State to fight against corona virus, the Deanship of Graduate Studies patently proved to be ready not only for conducting teaching and learning classes virtually but also to implement oral examination for postgraduate students.
A mechanism for oral examination of MA candidates virtually was decided and circulated to all colleges.
Two MA candidates conducted their Viva presentations and ended with the candidates were successful.
Abdullah Al-Rizq, a student in the Department of Islamic Studies, College of Education in Zulfi, was examined by a panel comprised of: Prof. Rashid Al-Thunayan (Supervisor), Prof. Khalid Al-Matrafi (External Examiner) and Dr. Merhaf Al-Saqqa (Internal Examiner).
Ms. Hessah Al-Obaid, a student in the Department of Islamic Studies, College of Education in Majmaah, was examined by a panel included: Prof. Mohammed Shahata (Supervisor), Prof. Saleh Al-Bahlal (Internal Examiner) and Prof. Mazen Al-Sarsawi (External Examiner).
The Dean of Graduate Studies, Prof. Abdullah Al-Suwaiket, pointed out that both of the Viva sessions were held online successfully using “Blackboard” System as a platform for assessment. The success of this experience inspired the deanship to apply this approach even after the current situation for it would save time and efforts, added Prof. Al-Suwaiket.
