The University Rectorship Sets A Symposium On The Solutions of Media Intelligence And Knowledge Management

Under the sponsorships of His Excellency the Vice Rector, Dr. Musallam bin Mohammed Al- Dosari the Rectorship established a symposium entitled: The Solutions of Media Intelligence And Knowledge Management, where Media Intelligence is all about monitoring, recording and analyzing what is published in the various media sources, in any language, from social media channels and news sites and Internet sources within the university, such as the data base, or news archives, or any store of keeping or sharing information; all this is done in an automated mechanism. Also, it could be relied on the solution of keeping and archiving and managing internal and external information, with the availability at any time for any employee, according to the authorities granted to him/her.

 

Since carrying out these manual functions is constantly done in the same pace, updating these information from the original sources requires a lot of effort and time and may not result in listing all the information that matches the university's concerns. Depending on the individual skills and uneven experience - the ability to rapidly read and judging the news connection to pre-conceptual awareness and applying all these skills on a huge amount of updated data in real time in a limited period of time. Also, solution is characterized by providing the ability to extract meaning and concepts from vast amount of information of interest, and making the appropriate decisions based on the advanced analysis of this information, while facilitating the process of measuring feedback on these decisions instantly - regardless of the information format, source or even language. The workshop was attended by a number of Excellencies such as the Dean Scientific Research, the Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of Public library Affairs. Also, the Public Relations and University Media Department representative, the Supervisor of the Administrative Planning and Development Department, the Dean of the of Computer Science and Information College and the Vice Dean of e-learning and distance learning for technical affairs. At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Vice Rector expressed his appreciation to the sponsors of the workshop and attendees and colleagues who enriched the successful Symposium.
