UNDER THE PATRONAGE OF HIS HIGNESS THE RECTOR, EDUCATION COLLEGE ORGANIZES THE EXCELLENCE DAY WITH EXHIBITION AND AWARDING CEREMONY

 

Under the patronage of His Highness the Rector, Dr. Khalid Bin Sa’ad Al-Mogren, College of Education organized its first ceremony for the Excellence Day with the presence of a number of Deans of Colleges and Deanship, Managers of Administrations, faculty members and students with their guardians. His Highness the Rector launched the exhibition and took a tour where he had a look at the achievements and works done in the exhibition as well as the sections of winners in the competitions. After that, His Highness the Rector and his accompany headed to a place where a speech ceremony was conducted. The ceremony was initiated by a recitation of the Holly Qura’an by the student Majed Al-Mutairi followed by a speech for Dean of Education College, Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdulah Al-Shaaye who extended his thanks and appreciations to His Highness the Rector for his continues support for the college. Then, he presented the college achievements with a video show of the publications including College Guidance, strategic plan, research standards, exam guidance, training courses organized for faculty members, students, and staffs, which reached 37 training courses, evacuation plan report conducted by the college pertinent to training on how to evacuate buildings during crisis and catastrophes in cooperation with General Directorate of Civil Defense in Majma’ah, workshop report about ways of communications which attended by 27 Deans of colleges from seven universities. After that, the student Ahmed Eyssa Al-Khareef delivered a speech on behalf of all students where he extended his appreciations to His Highness the Rector for his presence and continue supports for students. Addressing the audience, His Highness the Rector delivered a speech in which he extended his thanks and appreciations to His Excellency Dean of Education College and its staffs for their efforts in organizing such kind of functions which bring competitions spirit among the college staffs and achieve the university goals. These functions and programs exploit the available resources and a step to development as well as to the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques and the follow up of His Highness Minister of Higher Education and his vice. His Highness also shed a light on the University achievements and encouraged all to continue the work and to double the efforts to achieve the University goals in accordance with the available resources. At the end of the ceremony, winners of excellence day competitions were awarded. The ceremony segments were presented by the student Abudllah Ibraheem Al-Saeed; excellence day competition explanation and exhibition section show were presented by Dr. Mustafa Al-Farmawi. After the ceremony, His Excellency Dean of Education College, Dr. Mohammad Al-Shaye mentioned that the excellence day intends to:

 

 

  1. Brining the competitive spirit among faculty members, students and administrative staffs.  
  2. Approving and applying the standards of excellence at the college level.
  3. Encouraging faculty members and scientific departments to fulfill the requirements of academic accreditation.
  4. Activating excellence performance award within the activities of academic accreditation standards.
  5. Implementing a new initiative at the university level.

His Excellency noted that the preparing for this ceremony begun since the start of current university year 1432/33, where the organizing committee was formed, chaired by the Dean, Dr. Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al-Shaye and the membership of:

  2. Mr. Abdelrahman Mustafa’a Al-Farmawi, Head of Quality Center
  3. Dr. Norah Al-Sawyan, Deputy the College for Student Affairs
  4. Dr. Farah Al-Askar, Deputy of the College for Educational Affairs
  5. Dr. Muna Al-Dosogi, Vice of Quality Center Head
  6. Dr. Emad Hamdi

The committee sets special standards pertinent to the competition of excellence which included the following competitions:

  1. Ideal Section
  2. Ideal Faculty Member
  3. Ideal Staff
  4. Ideal Student
  5. Literary innovation of story and press article
  6. Memorization of the Holly Qur’an (the Cave Chapter)
  7. Art Innovation ( Art board – handcrafts)
  8. Academic Excellency
  9. Sports Excellence
  10. Art Exhibition for Academic Departments ( Educational Science – Home Economics-  Special Education – Kindergarten- Computer )

The committee set the mechanisms of applying for the competition and the value of the awards. The faculty board approved the standards of the competitions and their awards value in its 21st meeting. Finally, Al-Shaye extended his thanks and appreciations to all organizers, and he stated that upon His Highness the Rector, this function will be held annually (God willing).
