DEPUTY-MINISTER OF EDUCATION FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION VISITS MU

MU rector, Dr. Khalid al-Muqren received in his office the deputy-minister of Education for Research & Innovation, Prof. Nasir al-Aqily, and his advisor, Dr. Nabeel al-Harithi, to oversee the university’s efforts and preparations with regard to distance learning for the new academic year.
Welcomed by both the vice-rectors, Dr. Ahmed al-Rumaih and Dr. Mohammed al-Obudi, the visitors were briefed about the works carried out, since its establishment, by all units and colleges in the field of distance learning.
Realizing the importance of e-learning since early time, a deanship was founded with the aim of training faculty members, staff and technicians on how to handle such systems of distance learning, an act that contributed immensely in the success of educational process after classes were suspended.
The visitors were then accompanied on a visit to the Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education where they were welcomed by the vice-dean for educational affairs, Dr. Khalid al-Mudaibari, who highlighted the statistics of e-courses and training plans for both students and faculty members.
The visitors were also briefed about the plan set by the deanship to overcome the potential difficulties associated with virtual classes.

The dean of IT, Dr. Mohammed al-Wenein, accompanied the delegation on a tour where they were introduced to the work progress of IT Deanship to ensure that all distance learning apps are operating smoothly and without interruption.
As a step to provide a high quality of services, a team was formed to receive feedback from beneficiaries.
At the end of the visit, Prof. al-Aqily expressed his gratitude with the efforts expanded by the university in the field of distance learning.
