The ceremony also included a film showing how the university has managed to receive the institutional academic accreditation from the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) after meeting all academic criteria. With this achievement, MU has become one of the earliest universities to make this achievement which is considered one of the strategic goals for any educational institutions in line with the Vision 2030.
The university's academic accreditation is a manifestation of the vision adopted by the university since its establishment, and the result of its strategic planning. This achievement will be a motive for maintaining quality control and raising efficiency for promising future.
The accreditation will also increase the university competitiveness in market as more companies will consider the idea of recruiting the university’s graduates. Graduate students would also have better chances of pursuing their higher studies in well renowned universities. Opportunities of faculty members who serve at a university that has an academic accreditation are much higher in being accepted for a postgraduate program.
Addressing the audience, MU Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren extended his thanks to Riyadh Governor for patronizing the event and the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the unlimited support the university receives as an obvious manifestation of their great concern of education.
Dr. Al-Mugren said receiving the academic accreditation along with launching a number of major projects resulted from the support the university is having from the government of this state. This achievement would have a positive impact on the educational outcomes.
A film entitled ‘Yes I can’ was then shown which narrates how this nation was established and flourished with the perseverance of its citizens.
The ceremony was wrapped up by honoring partners of MU: Riyadh Bank, Al-Rajihi Bank and Dean’s Office of Community Service and Distance Education. Mr Ibrahim Al-Sultan was also honored for his contributions in building MU Center for Rehabilitation, Prosthetic and Orthotic.
In a press statement for Prince Faisal, he expressed his gratitude for being at MU and the long-standing relationship with its Rector, Dr. Al-Mugren. I am so proud of today’s achievements both the institutional academic accreditation and the projects launched. On the progress MU is making recently, Prince Faisal attributed that to the environment and the concerted collaboration from all the university’s staff.
