COLLEGE OF APPLIED MEDICAL SCIENCE STUDENTS PARTICIPATES IN THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MODELING, SIMULATION AND APPLIED OPTIMIZATION

MA students in biomedical engineering at the College of Applied Medical Science, MU published their MA thesis in the 8th International Conference on Modeling, Simulation and Applied Optimization, organized by both the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and the College of Business Administration at the University of Bahrain.
• The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from all over the world to share and discuss advances and developments in the fields of Modeling, Simulation and Applied Optimization and their applications, Computer Engineering, Control systems, Engineering Management, Artificial Intelligence, Financial Engineering.
Over 400 participants have presented more than 50 papers in various fields such as : problems solving, computing and clouding, mega data, safety assessment of interactions, hedging risk modeling etc.
Two MA students from Majmaah University participated in this conference: the MA student Ahmed Al-Madhoun with his MA thesis titled “Numerical Modeling and Simulation of a Carotid Artery with Dynamic Growth of Aneurysm”, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Yassin Skandar and Dr. Mohsen Bakouri ; and MA student Abdelrahman Al-Hayder with his MA thesis titled “Wavelet-based Semblance Analysis of Gait Dynamics in Parkinson’s Disease”, under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Yassin Skandar and Dr. Abdelaziz Al-Khathiri.
The participation of MU in this conference was fully supported by the Dean of the College, Dr. Mazen Al-Ghatani and followed-up by Dr. Abdelaziz Al-Kathiri, Head of Biomedical Engineering Department. The unlimited encouragement and backup by MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren and Vice-Dean for Graduate Research and Scientific Research had also played a significant role in this success.
