MU HONORED WITH CERTIFICATES AT WSIS, 2019 IN GENEVA

Majmaah University was honored with a number of certificates of recognition at the World Summit on the Information Society 2019 held in Geneva.
A record number of 1,140 projects from 193 countries have competed for the prestigious WSIS Prizes 2019. Saudi Arabia was honored for 8 projects, 3 of which belong to Majmaah University. The certificates of recognition were received by both Prof. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Wanien, Dean of IT.
MU’s project of Midterm and Final e-Exam Booking System was awarded for the category of ICT for e-government. The exam booking system aims to make the process of booking the time and date of midterm and final exams much easier for students.
MU’s system of road traffic awareness system “Salik” was also honored for the category of ICT for E-Learning. The system is basically a community imitative- devoted for the Road Traffic Safety Awareness Club ‘Salik’. The system comprises supporting services that intend primarily to qualify drivers to pass driving tests through a driving simulator.

In the ICT category for E-health, MU’s project Blood Donation Application was honored. The App is a mobile application that makes the process of blood donation for volunteers more convenient.
The winning systems are only a few of many that have been developed by in-house Saudi staff at the university. Due to the significance of these systems, they were recognized locally and internationally. This contribution by MU is in line with the National Transformational Program 2020.
WSIS Prizes is a unique international contest developed in response to requests from the WSIS stakeholders to create an effective mechanism to evaluate and recognize individuals, governments, civil society, local, regional and international agencies, research institutions and private-sector companies for outstanding success in implementing development
