VICE-RECTOR’S OFFICE FOR GSSR HOLDS A SEMINAR ON WRITING SCIENTIFIC BOOKS

Prof. Mohammed A. Al-Shaye, Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, patronized the seminar titled ‘ Writing Scientific Books: Developmental Vision, held by the Vice-Rector’s Office for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the training hall.

The seminar, which targeted faculty members, aims to promote the culture of writing a scientific book among faculty members and to what extent this would impact their career in future. In the seminar other topics were addressed such as the criteria of writing and the role of the university in encouraging faculty members to publish in peer-reviewed journals. 
Prof. Ahmed Salem, director of publishing and translation, stated that the center has published 10 books up to date. Prof. Salem also made a reference to some matters to be avoided should the faculty members decided to publish. The seminar was wrapped up with a model proposed to guide faculty members on how to write scientific books followed by Q&A session.
