OBSERVING SHAWWAL CRESCENT

The University Astronomical Observatory in Hawtat Sudair is preparing to observe the crescent of Shawwal 1439 AH according to Umm Al Qura calendar.

The Observatory explained in a statement that after the completion of the scientific calculations on Wednesday, 29 Ramadan 1439 AH, the central pairing will occur at 10:42 before midnight. The sun will rise at 6:49 pm at 294 degree west, while the moon will appear at 7:31 pm at 290 degree northwest.

Based on these calculations, and if the climatic conditions are appropriate in terms of clarity, there will be an opportunity to see the crescent of the month of Shawwal on Thursday, 30 Ramadan 1439 AH at sunset.

On this occasion, the Astronomical Observatory welcomes those wishing to observe the crescent at the monitoring site in the city of Hawtat Sudair.
