      Continuous Improvement Overview

      During the past two years we have been conducting surveys and assessment of our educational processes. Prior to 2009 we were using surveys that were not necessarily aligned with the ABET requirements. For the last three semesters including this semester we have adopted the direct and indirect assessment tools that have allowed us to evaluate both our educational objectives and program outcomes. The current semester has just ended and the evaluations of the results are not complete.  We intend to submit a supplement to the self-study report which will include the evaluation of the spring 2011 assessment results and the actions taken to improve the program outcomes beginning in the fall of 2011.  We should have preliminary results for the impact of these changes by the middle of the fall 2011 semester and will be able to provide that data in the supplemental report. Assessment methods and results prior to our transition to ABET criteria were valuable and beneficial for merging into the ABET format. Details of our observations and action plans to improve are presented below.
