Based on the invitation of the university and based on the consent and directions of the University Rector, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Almugren, scientific team from the Vice Rectorship participates in the third scientific forum for those working in the field of safety in Saudi universities composed of the Vice-rector Dr. Musalam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari, and the general director of the University Environmental and Professional Health Department and the supervisor on the Management of Scientific Equipment, Mr. Abdul Illah bin Abdullah Al-Mutairi, participated in the third scientific forum for those working in the field of safety in Saudi universities, which was held at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah during the period from 26/04/1436 AH to 28/04/1436 AH. It was held under the auspices of the Minister of Education Dr. Azam Aldakeel, and in the presence of His Excellency, the Vice-minister, Prof. Ahmed Al Seif. The team participated with a scientific paper entitled (A Assessment Study for the Availability of Stipulations of Occupational and Engineering Health and Safety at University Budding Laboratories in Saudi Arabia -Majmaah University as a model-). The paper came out of many important results which supports the work of any team wants to create a laboratory with a high level of engineering and professional safety and health.
In this regard, His Excellency pointed out that the Vice Rectorship seeks to raise the standards of the occupational safety and health in the university environment in particular the laboratories, because they are considered a fundamental pillar in working the main functions of the university such as education, scientific research, and community service. The Vice Rectorship is convinced that aspects of occupational safety and health does not accept diligence and experience, That is because a mistake can cause seriously big problems and may hurt the employees of the university and damage the physical environment in addition to the surrounding community. According to that, the Vice Rectorship adopted the method of scientific research to assess the problems and develop solutions to increase the work efficiency, and to improve the results through adopted the scientific conferences and forums which characterized by committees of scientific and expertise arbitration to evaluate researches scientifically with neutrality and high transparency. The Vice-rector also pointed out that the University Rector continuously follow up the development of the university environment in all aspects such as safety and occupational health which they are the most important elements of the university excellence and efficiency, and added that this permanent support for this aspect by him will be touched by the University employees during the next period.
It is worth to mention that the third scientific forum for those working in the field of safety in Saudi universities has received active participation and distinctive presence of a number of the relevant authorities of safety and health and from the various civilian and military sectors. During this meeting, a number of important papers related to the work safety in university buildings were also discussed. On the sidelines of the forum, a meeting was held with manager of preservation and safety in SABIC center for researches and innovation at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology ,Eng. Andrew Zelto Zinski, and discussed the possible areas of cooperation, and to coordinate the exchange of visits.
