New Icon To Report Weather Conditions Hindering Study

Seeking to develop support operations of the educational process as recommended by the Rector and upon the follow-up of the Vice Rector, the General Department of Facilities and Services and in coordination with the Deanship of Information Technology added an electronic icon to report weather conditions preventing students from coming to colleges and attending classes. Dr. Musallam Al-Dosari said that in line with the e-services provided for students, the university endeavored to create an e-window linked to the university transportation system. This window allows the reporting of weather conditions and their accompanying vagaries which affect performance in the academic day and the coming to colleges. This service allows the student, (male and female) or citizens to send the note electronically thus participating with the university in detecting what affects the arrival of students to college campuses, especially that academic premises are in many cases far away from students' housing. The climatic note is then transferred to the emergency unit to follow it up and study it in the General Department of Facilities and Services and then send a report to the Vice-rectorship to take a decision for the benefit of students and ensure their safety. Such process is utterly important in light of the multiplicity of female buses traffic lines and the multiple colleges outside the university main campus reach. The service was also linked to smart devices via the application of electronic transport. It is worth mentioning that any person can visit the web page on reporting weather conditions on the link http://utd.mu.edu.sa/weather and download the university female transportation system applications. For Apple devices and systems download is through the link: https://appsto.re/sa/ElOw9.i and for android devices and systems through the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sa.edu.mu.transport
