CCIS Students Participate in THE HOUR OF CODE Event

Both male and female sections of the College of Computer and Information Sciences participated in the hour of code event which was organized by the ACM students group in the college. 13 male students and 35female took part in the event.

"Hour of the Code" is a global campaign that seeks to reach tens of millions of students in more than 180 countries and is run by the non-profit Code.org Foundation and supported by a number of major global companies such as Microsoft, Google and Apple.

The "Hour of Code" campaign is held to celebrate the week of computer science education, taking place from 5 to 11 December, in order to clarify what is the programming code and show that anyone can learn the basics of programming and even expand in the science. Every student has the opportunity to learn that computer science has a great deal of fun and creativity, which helps them to develop multiple skills such as problem solving, logical thinking and creativity, which are the foundations for success in any career path of computer science and information technology courses offered by the 21st century.
