CCIS Student Delegation Visit Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission

Upon the directives of CCIS Dean, Dr. Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Sagheer, to provide students with opportunities to learn about computer applications and techniques available in the public and private sector institutions, and to link the students' courses and lectures with the needs of the labor market and upon the generous invitation of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, the student activities unit organized for students from the IT and CS departments a visit to the headquarters of the Commission in Riyadh. Mr. Suleiman Al-Azmi the unit chair accompanied students during the visit.

The delegation was received by Mr. Majed AL Zahir from the Media Affairs Department at the Commission. The visiting students were first received in the reception hall, where Eng. Ali AL Shehri, Head of the Information Security Department delivered a presentation on the Department of Information Technology and Electronic Security in the Commission and the future trends in this field. Then the speaker made a brief talk on the mechanisms used to block internet sites and follow-up notifications issued by different government agencies benefiting from the various telecommunications companies.

Students visited then the Data and the Customer Service Centers to know about the services provided by the Commission to its employees. A presentation was delivered to explain the digital signature and the information backup systems.

At the end of the meeting, and on behalf of the Dean the delegation thanked its hosts and expressed the gratitude of CCIS to the Commission and its team for their permanent cooperation to facilitate field visits for students looking forward to arrange similar visits in the near future.
