College of Engineering Wins Second Place in Majmah University Marathon Contest

The College of Engineering participated in the Marathon organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the University, under the patronage of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Rumaih. A large number of university employees, students, faculty and staff attended the event on Wednesday 11/7/1439.

The Sports Marathon was organized under the theme "My Favorite Sports is my Health," which is in line with the Kingdom's vision to raise the level of sport in the community to one million Saudi athletes by 2030.

The large marathon was five kilometers long, in which the contestants participated in the form of teams where each team comprises five to ten contestants.

Each team was given a number on the official sports uniform of the participants.

The college participated by five faculty members and five students as follow: Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Saleh bin Ahmed Al Dahash, the Vice Dean for Quality and Development Affairs Dr. Abdullah Bin Al Mohaisen and the Chairman of the Student Activity Committee Dr. Tarek Nabil and Dr. Mahmoud Tharwat.

The College of Engineering won the silver medal of the championship after winning second place at the university, competing with "24" colleges and community departments participating in the major sporting event.

The awards ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Rumaih, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Ofaisan and Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Student Activities Dr. Shadi Al-Shuaieer.

The winners of the event were honored with gold, silver and bronze medals in recognition of their efforts and their great sporting spirit during the sporting events.
