A delegation headed by his Excellency, Dr Nacer Ben Ali Aljar Alah, the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, in company of his Excellency, Dr Fahd Ben Khaled Dhfiri, the University Undersecretary of Quality and Development, as well as his Excellency, Mosaed Ben Mohamed Zahrani, the College's vice-dean for educational affairs, visited the German Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) in Freiburg. They were received by his majesty, Dr George Richard, and some members of the German commission for the academic accreditation (AHPGS). The latter is an independent German organization that applied the academic standards as well as the international academic accreditation. Furthermore, it was considered as one of the most active members of the German European union for academic accreditation. Over 550 study programs have been evaluated and accredited by the AHPGS. . Alongside its national presence, the AHPGS developed a significant international activity. Part of it so far represented accreditation and evaluation procedures in Austria, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Romania, Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland. The visit aimed at introducing both the Majmaah University and the College of Applied Medical Sciences to the German Academic Accreditation, thereby enabling the delegation members to be fully and specifically informed of the organizational requirements for the academic accreditation application of the college programs. Besides, the delegates would coordinate with the commission in order to start the application process. Throughout the visit, a workshop was held about the extent of the college programs’ consensus within the German commission’s academic accreditation standards in Health and Social Sciences. The workshop ended up with many tips of advice. The most prominent one was that the various college programs were of such a good quality that they were ready for the academic accreditation application as since 2011; all the programs have been preparing the self-study reports according to the national commission for academic accreditation and assessment. At the end of the visit, his Excellency, the chairman of the delegation, Dr Nacer Ben Ali Aljar Allah, the Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences, also thanked the head of the German commission as well as its members for their hospitality and warm welcoming. He also showed gratitude to his Excellency, Dr Khaled Ben Saad Mokaren, the head of the Majmaah University, may God protect him, for his wise instructions as well as his ever lasting support for the sake of the College’s prosperity and promotion
